This should be self-evident, but it obviously bears repeating that no private corporation can lay claim to an ecological marvel that has been developing for longer than the human species. The South American countries standing up to Amazon understand this: they do not seek ownership of the domain name, merely the right to use it as appropriate. Amazon CO, instead of being sensible, is pursuing digital ownership of a domain that belongs to no one, simply because one man decided 'Amazon' would be a cool name for his company several decades ago.

I cannot possibly imagine what rational you have for acquiescing to him. Well, I can, but I'd like to think ICANN can't be bought.
