I have heard of your decision to award Amazon.com, Inc. the right to own the .amazon top-level domain, over the objections from ACTO. I object to this, since it gives a private corporation sole ownership of a name of a geographic region it has no connection to in the domain name hierarchy.

ACTO has a much stronger claim to the .amazon domain, and it should stand to reason that they should also profit from the domains registered using that name. This arrangement would also not prevent Amazon.com, Inc. from registering any .amazon domains it has a legitimate interest in.
